Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation has named Michelle Gadsden-Williams global head of Diversity and Inclusion. She is the first African American in Novartis’ history to serve in this capacity.

As global head of Diversity and Inclusion, Gadsden-Williams’ responsibilities include providing strategic direction and leadership in developing an environment that implements diversity practices into all facets of the company’s business.

Gadsden-Williams joined Novartis four years ago and previously served as the company’s Executive Director, Diversity and Inclusion. Her work has recently landed her a spot in Network Journal magazine's, “40 Top Business and Professional Leaders Under Forty.”

Gadsden-Williams earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Kean College. Currently, she is working towards her Master of Science degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
