SCIENCE SPECTRUM MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES TOP MINORITIES IN SCIENCE

Baltimore, Md. - Science Spectrum magazine released the names of the “Trailblazers” today. The Science Spectrum Trailblazers are outstanding Hispanic, Asian American, Native American, and Black professionals in the science arena whose leadership and innovative thinking on the job and in the community extend throughout and beyond their industry.

Selected by Science Spectrum editors, the chosen winners have all made a significant, quantifiable, personal impact on the industry and their communities.  Many maintain a powerful position of influence regarding public policy for minorities in science.

A luncheon honoring these Science Spectrum Trailblazers will be held on Friday, September 16, 2006 at the Baltimore Convention center in Baltimore, Maryland during the Minorities in Research Science Conference, the premier awards and professional development event for minority science professionals. The conference will be held from Thursday, September 14 to Saturday, September 16, 2006.

“I am thrilled to present and honor the scientific field’s brightest stars,” says Dr. Tyrone D. Taborn, editor-in-chief of Science Spectrum magazine and CEO of Career Communications Group Inc., producers of the conference and publishers of Science Spectrum.

“Clearly, if we are to bring on a new cohort of science talent, we must begin by recognizing and applauding those in the multicultural communities who have excelled,” Taborn continues. “In today’s media environment, high visibility is everything.” To register for the luncheon or receive more details visit www.ccgmag.com/emerald.

For over 20 years, Career Communications Group has been a global leader in producing conferences and outreach programs including The Black Engineer of the Year Awards, National Women of Color Technology Awards, Minorities in Research and Science Conference, Black Family Technology

Awareness Week, La Familia Technology Week and the Native American Technology Journey. CCG is also the publisher of US Black Engineer & Information Technology, Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology, Women of Color and Science Spectrum magazines.
