Osman Sankoh named Executive Director at INDEPTH Network

September 05, 2007—Osman Sankoh, PhD, has been appointed executive director of INDEPTH Network, an international organization of field sites that provides health and demographic data and research to enable developing countries to set health priorities and policies. Dr. Sankoh succeeds Fred Binka, PhD, who has led INDEPTH since 2000.
Sankoh, 43, most recently spent a year as deputy executive director after serving as scientific communications and external relations manager for INDEPTH from 2002-2006.
The World Bank, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, US National Institutes of Health, US National Institute of Aging, World Health Organization, Rockefeller Foundation, Wellcome Trust, Hewlett Foundation, SAREC, the department for Research Co-operation within SIDA, the Swedish International Development Agency, Britain’s Department of International Development and the Andrew Mellon Foundation fund INDEPTH.
