Vital Complex, a company managed by two physicians and a nutritionist, has produced a vitamin supplement they call “Active Heart.” The formula includes omega-3 fatty acids, associated with reducing the risk of coronary heart disease, and L-arginine, a protein amino acid found in proteins of all life forms. Studies have shown that L-arginine inhibits activities that promote cardiovascular disease.

Vital Complex was founded in 2004 by Harvey Castro M.D., an emergency medicine physician, Lucho Tejada M.D., an interventional cardiologist, and Dennis Passante, a nutritionist.
